Description
Olivetti Studio 42 typewriter, designed in 1935 by Luzzati, Figini, Pollini and Xanti Schawinsky, and made in Ivrea, Italy. An emblematic model that embodies the very best of Italian design — compact, elegant and remarkably reliable — and one of the most prized among collectors and lovers of vintage design.
The machine has been fully restored in our workshop: thorough cleaning, degreasing and lubrication of the mechanisms. A new ribbon comes fitted, so it is ready to use the moment it arrives.
It is in very good cosmetic condition overall. There is, however, a body defect on the left-hand side beneath the carriage, which is slightly bent, along with a few cosmetic marks at the back of the machine — both clearly visible in the photographs, with no effect whatsoever on how it works.
It is both an exceptional collector’s piece and an excellent writing tool, perfect for anyone who loves fine engineering and Italian industrial design.
