Remington put the first commercial typewriter on the market in 1873, in Ilion, New York. The Remington Noiseless of the 1930s with its muffled strike, the Rand models of the 40s and 50s, or the Envoy, Travel-Riter and Monarch portables of the 60s tell almost a century of mechanical writing.

Every Remington goes through our workshop: mechanism cleaning, typing and margin adjustment, new ribbon, full test. Older machines are sold with their period quirks, honestly described on the listing.
