Description

Erika 158 typewriter in white with black keys, made in East Germany in the 1980s. A much sought-after model with a timeless charm, whose bright white finish and black keys give it an elegant, instantly recognisable look.

The machine has been fully restored in our workshop: thorough cleaning, degreasing and lubrication of the mechanisms. A new ribbon comes fitted, so it is ready to use the moment it arrives.

It is in excellent working order. The AZERTY keyboard is soft and pleasant under the fingers, the carriage glides perfectly and every mechanism responds with precision.

Please note: the cap of the right-hand platen knob is missing, with no effect whatsoever on how the machine works.

It is both an excellent writing tool and a superb piece of vintage decor, perfect for a desk or a living room with a confident retro style.

Sold with its original rigid leather carrying case, in excellent condition, together with its original instruction manual — a rarity that collectors particularly value.
