Description

Sublime Corona 3 XC-D typewriter, manufactured in 1914 by the Corona Typewriter Company, which later became the famous Smith-Corona Typewriter Company. This model is one of the most iconic in the history of portable typewriters, thanks in particular to its innovative folding mechanism, which allows the machine to be folded up to reduce its size and make it easier to transport.

This ingenious system, although uncommon today, represented a major advance in portability at the time. It is one of the reasons why the Corona 3 was so successful, becoming one of the most popular models for nearly thirty years. It was even used on the front lines during World War I by war correspondents and officers.

This century-old machine is in very good cosmetic condition, with its black finish and well-preserved gold plating. It has been thoroughly cleaned and serviced, and a new ribbon has been installed, making it ready for immediate use. Its French AZERTY keyboard is smooth and comfortable to use.

It comes with its original wooden carrying case, which is also well preserved despite its age. Please note, however, that this antique box must be handled with care to preserve its integrity.
