Built in 1954, this Remington Rand Noiseless No. 7 has a notable place in history: its parts were produced in the United States and the final assembly carried out in France, a mark of how far the Remington name reached at the time.

The machine has been fully restored in our workshop: thorough cleaning, degreasing and lubrication of the mechanisms. A new ribbon comes fitted, so it is ready to use the moment it arrives.

It is in excellent working order. The AZERTY keyboard is soft and pleasant under the fingers, and every mechanism responds perfectly. True to its reputation, this Noiseless model is remarkable for how quietly it types — a considerable feat of engineering for its day.

Please note: the letter D in the Remington Rand logo on the top of the machine is slightly worn away, clearly visible in the photographs, with no effect on how it works or on its charm.

It is both a collector’s piece steeped in history and an excellent writing tool, which will appeal to vintage enthusiasts and demanding collectors alike.

Sold with its original wooden carrying case, in fair condition.
