Delivery times
Your order leaves the workshop within 48 hours (working days). Delivery times in the table above are counted from that moment. They are indicative: outside the European Union, customs checks can add a few days, and the weeks before Christmas are busier for every carrier.
We ship with Colissimo (La Poste) and its partner carriers abroad. Every parcel has a tracking number, so you can follow it all the way.
Packaging & damage in transit
Your machine travels in a reinforced box, wedged in protective material made from recycled sources. Every parcel is packed by hand to absorb knocks and arrive intact, and every parcel is insured.
If your machine arrives damaged, or has a fault when you open the box, contact us within 48 hours by WhatsApp or email, with photos. We always find a solution: repair, exchange or refund, depending on the case. For returns, see our Refunds & returns page.
Customs & import taxes
Inside the European Union there are no customs: the price you pay on our site is the final price. Outside the EU, your country may charge import VAT, customs duties and a handling fee. These are paid by you, the recipient, usually to the carrier before delivery. They are not included in our prices or shipping rates.
The amount depends on your country, on the value of the machine and, for duties, on the country where the typewriter was made (Switzerland for a Hermes, Japan for a Brother, Germany for an Olympia, Italy or Spain for an Olivetti…). We declare the real value and country of manufacture on the customs form, as the law requires.
European Union
No customs, no extra tax. Nothing to pay on delivery.
United Kingdom
Since Brexit, parcels from France go through UK customs. For a typewriter, UK import VAT (20%) is charged on arrival, plus a handling fee from the carrier, and duty may apply depending on where the machine was made. The carrier contacts you to pay before delivery.
Switzerland & Liechtenstein
Swiss import VAT (8.1%) and a handling fee from the carrier are collected on delivery.
United States
Since 29 August 2025, every parcel entering the US pays import duties, whatever its value. The rate depends on the country where the typewriter was made. Duties and the carrier’s processing fee are collected by the carrier before delivery. Want an estimate before you order? Send us a message with the machine you like.
Canada
GST or HST (depending on your province) and a handling fee from the carrier are collected on delivery; duty may apply depending on where the machine was made.
Norway, Australia, New Zealand and other countries
Local import VAT or GST and handling fees may apply. The carrier will tell you if anything is due before delivering your parcel.
Customs rules are set by each country and can change. This information is given in good faith as a guide; your country’s customs office has the final word.
A question before you order?
Ask us about delivery to your country, the keyboard layout, or the machine itself. Maxime replies personally within 24–48 hours (Paris time).
