Description

Brother typewriter in aqua blue, made in Nagoya, Japan, in the early 1970s. A flamboyant, rare colour that makes it instantly recognisable — as lovely to look at as it is to use.

The machine has been fully restored in our workshop: thorough cleaning, degreasing and lubrication of the mechanisms. A new black ribbon comes fitted, so it is ready to use the moment it arrives.

It is in excellent working order. The AZERTY keyboard is soft and pleasant under the fingers, the carriage works perfectly and the impression is smooth, in a lovely script typeface. A very agreeable machine to use day to day.

In full transparency: there is a small paint blemish on the left-hand side of the top cover. It is caused by the carriage return lever rubbing when it is not correctly clicked into place. The blemish is purely cosmetic and has no effect whatsoever on how the machine works.

It is both a superb piece of vintage decor, perfect for a loft or an interior with a confident retro style, and an excellent, fully working writing tool.

Sold with its original blue cover, in good condition.
